Acting on intelligence inputs, a case has been filed against Gurwinder Singh in Tarn Taran district after pro-Khalistan content was discovered on platforms associated with him. The investigation is now expanding to uncover a broader network and identify potential associates involved in anti-national activities. The Rajasthan Anti-Terrorism Squad initiated the crackdown on social media activities, pinpointing a suspect in Punjab linked to pro-Khalistan and pro-Pakistan propaganda networks.
Officials have invoked relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Information Technology Act in response to the identified suspect’s activities. The Anti-Terrorism Squad’s Social Media Monitoring Wing, led by Additional Director General of Police Dinesh M.N. and supervised by Inspector General Rajesh Singh, took action against the suspect based on surveillance findings. The team, under Additional Superintendent of Police Surendra Singh, was dispatched to Punjab for further investigation.
Digital analysis revealed pro-Khalistan and pro-Pakistan content, as well as communications with individuals associated with the banned terror group The Resistance Front. Chat logs and voice notes discussing the procurement of weapons for potential terror acts were also uncovered. The accused allegedly shared videos of a restricted Border Security Force location with handlers in Pakistan, according to the Anti-Terrorism Squad’s claims.
The probe exposed the circulation of pro-Khalistan content featuring Gurpatwant Singh Pannu from the banned organization Sikhs for Justice, along with separatist propaganda and suspected terror planning materials. Following the Anti-Terrorism Squad’s inputs, a case has been registered against Gurwinder Singh at Sadar Patti Police Station in Punjab’s Tarn Taran district under the relevant legal provisions. The investigation into the wider network and potential associates is ongoing.
