A 17-year-old girl in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, reported being abducted, confined, and pressured for forced religious conversion. The police arrested the main accused, Arman, following a complaint by the girl’s father. The incident occurred in the Rawatpur police station area, where the girl claimed she was taken to a Muslim-majority locality against her will.
The victim stated that she was coerced to recite the Islamic declaration of faith and pressured to convert to Islam. She alleged that she was physically assaulted, branded with hot tongs, and threatened with dire consequences if she did not comply. The girl also mentioned being forced to consume beef and sign certain documents during her confinement.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Dilip Kumar Singh confirmed the case registration and mentioned that the police were informed on June 27 about the incident. The family filed a complaint against the accused, and investigations are ongoing to validate the victim’s claims. Statements are being recorded, and evidence is being collected to verify the sequence of events.
