Two employees from a cash management agency in Hyderabad are reported to have absconded with Rs 1.20 crore intended for ATM deposits. The company, CMS Info Systems Limited, filed a complaint with the Hyderabad Police after the employees, Vasireddy and Lateef, failed to report for duty for two days and could not be reached.
The SR Nagar police have initiated an investigation into the matter and have formed special teams to locate and apprehend the accused individuals. These employees were responsible for depositing cash in ATMs within the SR Nagar area.
Following an internal audit conducted by company officials at 31 ATMs in the same area, a significant cash shortage amounting to Rs 1,20,98,500 was discovered. The audit revealed that cash had not been deposited in at least 8 ATMs, leading to suspicions about the involvement of the missing custodians.
A case has been registered at the SR Nagar Police Station, prompting a manhunt for the absconding employees. The police are utilizing CCTV footage and call data records to aid in tracking down the accused individuals.
In a separate initiative, the police in Toli Chowki and Goshamahal areas undertook a door-to-door cyber awareness campaign. This campaign aimed to educate residents and business owners on identifying and avoiding cybercrimes, emphasizing precautions against phishing links, fraudulent calls, and unauthorized sharing of personal banking information.
