The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed its 13th chargesheet against Rudra Buildwell Projects Pvt. Ltd. and its director for alleged fraudulent activities related to a housing project in Greater Noida. The CBI stated that the accused company and its director, as part of a criminal conspiracy, deceived homebuyers and investors through false assurances, misleading representations, and deceptive promises, resulting in financial gains for themselves and losses for the victims.
The investigation has uncovered substantial evidence against the accused, leading to the filing of charges under relevant provisions of the Indian Penal Code. The CBI is currently probing 36 other cases across the country involving allegations of cheating homebuyers and misappropriation of funds meant for housing projects. Several real estate firms and their directors, along with officials of banks and financial institutions, have also faced charges in connection with these cases.
The CBI emphasized its dedication to ensuring accountability in cases related to economic offences, corruption, and public fraud, especially those impacting common citizens and homebuyers. Additionally, the agency recently arrested three individuals and conducted searches in Odisha and Rajasthan concerning a Rs 2.07-crore “digital arrest” scam, where a retired public servant was allegedly coerced into transferring money under threat of fabricated legal action.
