The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is escalating its investigation into the suspicious death of a NEET student from Jehanabad. The victim’s family has received new death threats, causing alarm. The CBI team has inspected locations in Patna and Jehanabad, including the student’s ancestral home.
The deceased student’s brother was taken to Patna for questioning during the investigation. A threatening note found near the family’s home in Jehanabad has heightened their fears. The handwritten note warns of the son’s impending death within two days, adding to the family’s distress.
The family disclosed that this is the second threatening note they have received, with a similar one thrown outside their house on February 14. Despite security measures, the note was allegedly thrown from outside the house by someone from the village. Local police from Shakurabad Police Station are now stationed at the residence to ensure safety.
Shakurabad Station House Officer Rahul Kumar confirmed that a complaint has been lodged by the family. Police are actively investigating the source of these threats to ensure the family’s protection. The victim’s father expressed a sense of insecurity, emphasizing the need for stronger security measures and prompt action.
The case has sparked controversy, initially labeled a suicide by the police but later revealed to involve sexual assault through post-mortem and FSL reports. The victim’s family alleges rape and murder, accusing the police of cover-up attempts. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) was established under child protection laws after public outcry, with DNA samples collected from various individuals.
The CBI, now overseeing the investigation, is delving into all aspects of the case, including the victim’s daily life, relationships, recent events, and potential threats. The ongoing threats amidst the CBI inquiry have heightened tensions, with the victim’s family demanding swift action, accountability, and continuous security measures.
