The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) announced the successful deportation of Ganesh Balaso Kale, a Red Notice subject, from Thailand to India. Kale is wanted in connection with a cybercrime fraud case involving the deception of victims through online part-time job offers. He operated a network of cyber financial criminals, exploiting individuals by promising interest in exchange for using their bank accounts for illicit fund transfers.
The accused also directed accomplices to obtain mobile phones and fake SIM cards to aid in committing offenses. Following the Interpol Red Notice, Kale was located in Thailand and detained by Thai authorities in Bangkok on May 24. After legal procedures and close cooperation between Indian and Thai authorities, Kale was deported to India.
A Red Corner Notice for Kale was issued in May, leading to his swift location, apprehension, and return to India within about 20 days. Upon arrival at Mumbai Airport on Thursday, Kale was taken into custody by the Maharashtra Police’s Cyber Cell. The CBI, as India’s National Central Bureau for INTERPOL, collaborates with various law enforcement agencies through BHARATPOL for INTERPOL assistance.
In recent years, more than 160 wanted criminals have been successfully repatriated to India through coordinated efforts between different agencies.
