The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has extended the deadline for Class 12 students seeking verification and re-evaluation of their answer sheets. Initially set for June 6, the deadline has been pushed to June 7 midnight. This extension aims to assist students facing technical issues and accommodate the increased applications post-results.
The verification and re-evaluation process is crucial for students to ensure the accuracy of their assessed answer sheets. Students first apply for scanned copies of their evaluated sheets before proceeding to request mark verification or question re-evaluation. This system enhances transparency and student confidence in the evaluation process.
CBSE has implemented the On-Screen Marking system on a larger scale this year to reduce errors and enhance efficiency. However, students reported problems like blurred copies and skipped markings, leading to a surge in re-evaluation requests. Over seventy thousand applications have been filed, highlighting the demand and significance of the deadline extension.
The fee structure has been revised to make the process more accessible, requiring a nominal fee for verification and a per-question fee for re-evaluation. Once re-evaluation is done, the marks become final and binding without further appeal. CBSE advises students to adhere to the revised schedule and submit applications before the new deadline.
The Board has activated a helpline to support students and parents with queries, ensuring a smooth process. This extension not only addresses logistics but also reassures students that their feedback is valued. The upcoming re-evaluation outcomes by July will be crucial for restoring confidence in the digital evaluation system and upholding fairness and transparency in CBSE’s processes.
