Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar, during his visit to Himachal Pradesh, interacted with field-level election officials at a polling station in Khajjiar, Chamba district. He also encouraged young electors to actively participate in the democratic process. Earlier, CEC Gyanesh Kumar engaged with election officials and Booth Level Officers (BLOs) in Dharamshala.
CEC Gyanesh Kumar commended the efforts of BLOs in updating electoral rolls and ensuring the accuracy of the voters’ list. His visit coincides with the preparations for the upcoming Assembly elections in November 2027, where all 68 members will be elected. Additionally, Gyanesh Kumar participated in spiritual activities in the Kangra Valley, offering prayers at various temples.
The Election Commission of India (ECI) announced the commencement of the Special Intensive Revision – Phase III enumeration phase in Odisha, Mizoram, Sikkim, and Manipur. The enumeration phase, which began on May 3, aims to include all eligible electors in the Draft Electoral Rolls by June 28, 2026. During this phase, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) conduct house-to-house visits to distribute Enumeration Forms and ensure maximum coverage for voter enrolment.
