Director of Census Operations in Haryana, Lalit Jain, oversaw preparations for the upcoming Census operations in Gurugram. The meeting included Deputy Commissioner Uttam Singh, senior officers, tehsildars, and representatives from Municipal Corporation Gurugram and Municipal Corporation Manesar. Jain emphasized the need to start the Census work promptly and highlighted the completion of preliminary preparations like house-listing maps.
Jain urged all enumerators and supervisors to be punctual, emphasizing the significance of the Census for national development. He stressed the importance of accelerating field-level work and assured full support to the employees. With favorable weather conditions, Jain urged expediting the Census work to meet the set timeline. He also requested Resident Welfare Associations to cooperate by allowing Census personnel access to their premises.
Deputy Commissioner Uttam Singh instructed officials to kickstart Census work promptly, ensuring regular reviews for timely completion. The Census 2027, the world’s largest census exercise, began on April 1, with the Government of India initiating Phase I, house listing, and housing census. This marks India’s first digital data capture and self-enumeration exercise, with President Droupadi Murmu being the first to be enumerated through self-enumeration.
