In a successful operation, the Central District Police resolved a series of scooty theft cases in the Nabi Karim area by apprehending two children in conflict with the law and recovering two stolen vehicles. The prompt and meticulous investigation by the Police Station Nabi Karim team played a crucial role in this achievement.
The police received the first complaint on April 25 from a resident of Multani Dhanda in Paharganj regarding the theft of his Honda Activa scooty. Subsequently, another theft complaint was reported on April 27 from the same locality. The police registered cases under the legal provisions and initiated a joint investigation due to the close proximity of the incidents.
A dedicated team, led by Head Constables Vikash and Nitin, along with Constables Sanjay and Mandeep, under the supervision of Station House Officer Gulshan Nagpal and the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Paharganj, meticulously examined CCTV footage from various locations in the Nabi Karim area to identify the culprits. The investigation revealed the involvement of two young individuals who targeted parked vehicles during late-night hours.
After extensive efforts, the suspects, identified as minors aged 12 and 13, were apprehended near Pul Paharganj. The juveniles confessed to scouting the area at night, selecting vulnerable vehicles for theft, and later abandoning the stolen scooties at different locations. The police recovered both stolen vehicles from areas falling under Police Stations Sadar Bazar and Paharganj, successfully closing the cases under the relevant legal sections.
