The Election Commission of India announced the completion of the enumeration phase for Chandigarh’s 5,16,427 registered electors. Out of these, 4,50,280 enumeration forms were collected and digitized, accounting for 87.19% of the total, while 66,147 forms remained uncollected.
The success of this phase was attributed to the efforts of various officials including District Election Officer, Electoral Registration Officers, and Booth Level Officers. Additionally, support was provided by NSS volunteers, political party representatives, and Booth Level Agents.
Among the collected Enumeration Forms, 3,80,821 electors were linked with the last Summary Revision of Electoral Rolls (SIR), while 69,459 electors submitted forms without any linkage. The uncollected forms were listed under ASDD (Absent/Shifted/Dead/Duplicate) category, with provisions for genuine electors to be added back during the Claims and Objections period.
The enumeration phase, which began on June 15 and ended on July 15, saw 100% distribution of Enumeration Forms within the first week. BLOs visited electors’ households to distribute and collect forms, with additional follow-ups by BLAs and volunteers. Recognition and incentives were provided to BLOs who completed their tasks ahead of schedule.
