England’s Charlie Dean and New Zealand captain Melie Kerr have shown significant improvement in the latest ICC Women’s ODI Player Rankings. Dean, acting as captain due to Nat Sciver-Brunt’s injury, was named Player of the Match for her unbeaten 31 not out and two-wicket performance in England’s narrow win in Durham.
Dean climbed six places to 10th in the bowling rankings for her 2-34 against the White Ferns and moved up one spot to 11th in the list for ODI all-rounders. Meanwhile, Kerr and her teammate Maddy Green have also made notable progress in the rankings. Green advanced two spots to seventh in the ODI batters list after scoring 88 runs, while Kerr rose four places to 11th following her half-century.
New Zealand’s Rosemary Mair, who took three wickets in the same match, moved up 12 positions to 34th in the ODI bowlers’ rankings. Additionally, players from Pakistan and Zimbabwe saw improvements in their rankings after their recent ODI series in Karachi.
Pakistan’s Sadaf Shamas, Aliya Riaz, and Gull Feroza made significant gains in the ODI batters rankings, with Shamas moving up 24 spots to 48th, Riaz climbing four places to 54th, and Feroza entering the top 75. Pakistan’s skipper Fatima Sana and spinner Rameen Shamim also caught attention, with Sana rising three places to 23rd and Shamim moving up 12 spots to 41st in the ODI bowlers’ rankings.
