Chennaiyin FC, fresh off a hard-earned victory against Kerala, is gearing up to host FC Goa, currently in fourth place, in their inaugural home match of the Indian Super League (ISL) 2026 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai this Sunday.
The recent win, secured by Imran Khan’s debut goal, has propelled Chennaiyin up the ISL standings, prompting head coach Clifford Rayes Miranda to emphasize the importance of maintaining their winning momentum and securing more points in the quest for the top position.
Miranda, looking ahead to the upcoming match, highlighted the necessity for his team to capitalize on their current form against FC Goa, an undefeated opponent in the league thus far.
In addressing the challenge posed by FC Goa’s offensive prowess, Miranda emphasized a collective defensive strategy rather than individual marking, focusing on nullifying the opposition as a cohesive unit.
Miranda also discussed the team’s progress in adapting to their roles and the need for improvement in converting opportunities into goals, particularly in the attacking third, to enhance their scoring consistency.
