Veteran NCP leader and Maharashtra minister Chhagan Bhujbal addressed reports of injustice, stating his desire for fair treatment similar to others. Bhujbal expressed his wish for his nephew, Sameer Bhujbal, to be considered for a ministerial position. He highlighted examples of familial connections within the state’s political landscape to support his stance.
Bhujbal clarified that the BJP did not reject his proposal but deferred it for future cabinet expansions. He emphasized his expectation for equitable treatment, citing instances where leaders’ relatives held significant positions. Bhujbal, known for his role in NCP’s establishment, stressed his request for parity in opportunities.
Despite facing setbacks in securing a ministerial berth for his nephew, Bhujbal’s withdrawal led to the nomination of Rajendra Jain for the Rajya Sabha. The decision was supported by the party’s Working President Praful Patel and approved by the core committee, including Parth Pawar.
