Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai visited the home of Kalicharan, a beneficiary of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) in Surajpur. The visit occurred during the Chief Minister’s district tour, showcasing the positive impact of government housing schemes at the grassroots level.
Impressed by the quality of Kalicharan’s newly constructed house in Manpur village, CM Sai commended the beneficiary for blending government aid with personal efforts to create dignified homes. During the visit, CM Sai interacted warmly with Kalicharan’s family, leading to an emotional moment when Kalicharan’s daughter, initially unable to meet the Chief Minister, burst into tears before finally meeting him.
CM Sai emphasized that such instances exemplify the success of government initiatives, expressing immense satisfaction as the government’s vision materializes. He shared statistics on the PMAY, revealing that out of 18 lakh approved houses in Chhattisgarh, nearly 8 lakh families have received completed homes. Additionally, surrendered Naxalites are receiving extra housing support, and 32,000 more houses are slated for construction under the PM Janman Yojana.
Kalicharan and his family expressed deep gratitude towards the Chief Minister and the government for transforming their living conditions from a leaking kutcha house to a peaceful pucca home, highlighting the positive impact of the housing schemes on their lives.
