The Chhattisgarh government recently executed a significant administrative overhaul by transferring senior IAS officers, principal secretaries, and district collectors across the state. This move aims to enhance governance and boost administrative efficiency under Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai’s leadership. Notable appointments include Richa Sharma as Additional Chief Secretary for Panchayat and Rural Development, and Manoj Kumar Pingua as Additional Chief Secretary for Forest and Climate Change.
Subodh Kumar Singh, who previously served as Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, now holds additional responsibilities in the Energy Department. Niharika Barik has been reassigned to the Home and Jails Department, while Shahla Nigar takes on the role of Principal Secretary for Women and Child Development. The reshuffle also includes appointments like Rohit Yadav as Secretary of Finance, Kamalpreet Singh in the School Education Department, and Pardeshi Siddharth Komal as Agriculture Production Commissioner.
Additionally, Reena Baba Saheb Kangale now leads the Commercial Taxes (Excise) Department, and Avinash Champawat has received additional duties in Higher Education. Other key appointments involve Mukesh Kumar Bansal overseeing finance-related matters and the Public Works Department, and R. Sangeetha being posted to the Urban Administration and Development Department. The restructuring also includes changes in roles for Ankit Anand, Bhuvnesh Yadav, S. Bharathidasan, Shammi Abidi, Basavaraju S., and several others across various departments.
The extensive reshuffle, involving 42 officers, is part of the government’s initiative to streamline administrative responsibilities and enhance public service delivery in different departments and districts. This restructuring stands out as one of the most comprehensive administrative reorganizations in the state in recent times.
