The Chhattisgarh government has initiated an investigation into the accident at Vedanta Power Limited’s plant in Singhitarai, Dabhra tehsil of Sakti district. The incident, which occurred on April 14 due to a technical fault in a water supply pipe joint connected to a steam pipeline in Boiler Unit-1, resulted in the tragic death of multiple workers and left several others with severe injuries.

The death toll from the boiler explosion has now reached 20, with 15 workers currently receiving medical treatment at different hospitals. In response to the seriousness of the situation, the state government has mandated a thorough inquiry to determine the circumstances, causes, and necessary preventive measures to avoid such incidents in the future.

The appointed inquiry officer, the Bilaspur Divisional Commissioner, has been tasked with completing the investigation within 30 days and submitting a detailed report to the government. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai expressed profound sorrow over the incident, honoring the deceased workers and offering condolences to their families.
