Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar engaged with the monks at Belur Math in Howrah, the international headquarters of the Ramakrishna Math & Ramakrishna Mission. He interacted freely with the monks, absorbing the spiritual ambiance of the place.
Belur Math, founded by Swami Vivekananda, embodies the teachings of Shri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Sarada Devi. Kumar then visited the famous Kali temple at Dakshineswar, closely associated with spiritual lessons imparted by Shri Ramakrishna to Swami Vivekananda.
The CEC’s visit to the Kali temple at Kalighat in South Kolkata was met with protests from Trinamool Congress activists. Despite this, Kumar is scheduled to convene a crucial meeting with top state bureaucrats and police officials, followed by a press conference.
