Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar arrived in Indore for his first official visit to Madhya Pradesh. Welcomed by senior election officials and district administration members, he focused on enhancing coordination with grassroots election machinery. Kumar paid respects at Devi Ahilyabai Holkar’s ‘Gadi’ and interacted with over 1,500 Booth Level Officers at the Lata Mangeshkar Auditorium in Indore.
The visit included BLOs from various districts like Indore, Ujjain, Dewas, Dhar, and Khandwa. This interaction aimed to address challenges faced by BLOs during election-related duties and gather suggestions for improving the electoral process. The state government highlighted the crucial role BLOs play in maintaining electoral rolls and ensuring smooth polling at the grassroots level.
Gyanesh Kumar’s direct engagement with Booth Level Officers and election personnel marks a significant step since assuming office as the Chief Election Commissioner. Following a similar outreach in Delhi, the CEC is set to visit the Omkareshwar Temple and the Maheshwar Fort before concluding his Madhya Pradesh visit. He will then depart for New Delhi on Sunday.
