Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar visited Omkareshwar, a town on the Narmada River’s banks in Madhya Pradesh, to offer prayers at a revered Lord Shiva shrine. Accompanied by his family, he participated in traditional rituals like the ‘Shringar Aarti’ and ‘Shayan Shringar’ at the temple. Kumar fulfilled a vow made in 2003 to visit all 12 Jyotirlingas by visiting the Shri Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga.
CEC Kumar highlighted the significance of spirituality in one’s life, emphasizing its role in providing inner peace and balance. He underscored the value of Indian culture and traditions, urging people to connect with their spiritual heritage. Kumar called on citizens to actively contribute to the nation’s progress and prosperity.
Upon his arrival in Indore, the Chief Election Commissioner was welcomed by senior election officials and district administration members. He engaged in activities aimed at enhancing coordination with grassroots election machinery. Kumar also paid respects at the ‘Gadi’ of Devi Ahilyabai Holkar at the airport premises.
