Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma expressed pride in the Indian Army, highlighting its valor, sacrifice, and dedication to safeguard the nation. He revealed plans for a historic Army Day Parade to be held on January 15 on Mahal Road, Jagatpura, marking the first time the event will take place outside the military cantonment boundaries. Sharma urged citizens to join in large numbers to witness and honor the Indian Army’s heroic legacy.

Preparations for the 78th Army Day celebrations were reviewed by Sharma at the Chief Minister’s Office, where he emphasized the need for prompt completion of all arrangements to ensure the smooth and grand execution of the event. Detailed instructions were given regarding seating, transportation, traffic management, parking, and security at the parade venue. The main parade is scheduled for January 15, with rehearsals open to the public on January 9, 11, and 13.

The Chief Minister highlighted that the Army Day Parade holds significance not only for Jaipur but for the entire state of Rajasthan, providing a platform for citizens to show appreciation for the soldiers’ unwavering patriotism. Approximately 1.5 lakh people are expected to attend the parade and rehearsals daily, prompting special arrangements for students, women’s groups, ex-servicemen, and the general public. Close coordination with the Army was stressed to ensure the seamless execution of all events, fostering a stronger bond between the Indian Army and citizens.

The parade will feature fly-pasts by fighter jets and helicopters, a ceremonial march past, and displays showcasing missiles, tanks, drone technology, and modern warfare capabilities. The Nepal Army Band will also participate in the parade. Additionally, ‘Shaurya Sandhya 2026’ will be organized at SMS Stadium on January 15, with a rehearsal set for January 10, including activities such as honoring martyrs’ families and traditional martial arts demonstrations. A drone show with 1,000 drones and a ‘Know Your Army’ exhibition displaying modern weapon systems and defense technologies will also be part of the event.
