Reaffirming the commitment to upholding law and order, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma of Rajasthan has sanctioned severe measures against two Rajasthan Police Service (RPS) officers and one Rajasthan Prison Service officer for irregularities and negligence in their official duties.
Chief Minister Sharma has promptly suspended Saroj Bishnoi, Deputy Superintendent at the Women’s Correctional Home in Jaipur, and directed her transfer to Bharatpur due to allegations of misconduct. Complaints accused her of keeping a female inmate with her, letting the inmate interfere in official matters, and offering unauthorized benefits to inmates for money.
Additionally, disciplinary actions under Rule 16 of the Rajasthan Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1958, have been initiated against Derawar Singh, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Cyber Crime) at Jodhpur Police Commissionerate. Singh, previously serving as the Station House Officer at Kaman Police Station in Deeg district, was found negligent in handling his duties during a murder case investigation, allegedly trying to protect seven out of eight accused individuals.
Furthermore, the Chief Minister has endorsed the departmental inquiry report against Labhuram Bishnoi, an RPS officer, acknowledging the proven charges against him. The investigation revealed his failure to act as per instructions concerning illegal sand mining and transportation by the sand mafia in the Banas River area, leading to a law-and-order crisis and jeopardizing the lives of police personnel due to a lack of coordination with relevant departments.
These decisions underscore the State Government’s dedication to ensuring accountability in public administration and fostering transparency, discipline, and efficiency in governmental operations.
