In response to severe flooding in the Indrayani River, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has advised Warkaris and devotees en route to Alandi to pause their journey for safety. With all access bridges to Alandi submerged, the Chief Minister recommends pilgrims to avoid Dehu and Alandi, suggesting they join the Wari procession in Pune city instead.
Fadnavis emphasized the importance of adhering to instructions from authorities, police, and disaster management teams. He cautioned against rumors, urging the public to refrain from visiting riverbeds, ghats, or closed bridges, while assuring that necessary safety measures are in place.
Given the heavy rainfall and potential flood risks in Maharashtra, the Chief Minister urged citizens to stay vigilant and cooperate with local authorities. He assured that the state government is fully prepared, activating 24-hour control rooms for immediate assistance in emergencies.
Fadnavis stressed the need to rely on official information sources, providing designated helpline numbers for crisis situations. The state government has set up emergency contacts, including a State-Level Main Control Room (Toll-Free): 1070, Mobile Number: 09321587143, and District-Level Control Rooms (Toll-Free): 1077 for rapid local assistance.
To ensure public safety amidst the evolving natural emergency, the Chief Minister announced the deployment of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and local civic bodies for rescue operations and preventing loss of life.
