Wang emphasized the importance of China and India setting an example for unity and self-reliance among Global South nations.
China’s Ambassador to India, Xu Feihong, shared insights from the meeting, highlighting the significance of the two countries working together as major developing nations in the Global South. Wang reiterated China’s support for India’s role as the BRICS rotating chair and emphasized the need for continued progress in BRICS cooperation.
During a separate meeting with India’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Wang discussed recent developments in bilateral relations and the gradual normalization process. Both sides underscored the importance of viewing their relationship from a long-term perspective and promoting global cooperation between their economies.
Wang stressed the need for respecting each other’s core interests, handling sensitive issues appropriately, and ensuring that border disputes do not overshadow overall bilateral relations. He called for fostering a correct understanding among all sectors of society to strengthen public opinion and social support for improving China-India ties.
