West Bengal Criminal Investigation Department (CID) officials interrogated Trinamool Congress National General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee for over eight hours regarding the Assembly signature mismatch case. Banerjee, a Lok Sabha member, left the CID headquarters after the questioning. Trinamool Congress MLA Kunal Ghosh was also questioned for about four hours before Banerjee.
Ghosh, upon leaving the CID headquarters, stated that he had cooperated with the investigation. He mentioned being questioned face to face with Abhishek Banerjee in connection with the signature mismatch case. Ghosh, a witness in the case, then proceeded to Trinamool Congress leader Mamata Banerjee’s residence in Kalighat.
Abhishek Banerjee, after more than eight hours of questioning, departed from the CID headquarters. He had arrived earlier than scheduled to face interrogation in the Assembly signature mismatch case. The Calcutta High Court had instructed Banerjee to assist the state police’s intelligence department in the investigation without facing coercive action for two weeks.
