Parties from various political backgrounds have praised climate activist Sonam Wangchuk for concluding his 26-day hunger strike protesting exam irregularities. Wangchuk broke his fast with Union Ministers JP Nadda and Jitendra Singh present, after receiving assurances from the Centre regarding students’ demands. Opposition leaders emphasized that the movement transcends any individual, with RJD MP Manoj Jha stating that Prime Minister Narendra Modi must address the sentiments of the masses.

Santhosh Kumar highlighted that the primary demand remains the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan or his dismissal by PM Modi, echoing the sentiments of the entire nation. Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party MP Ram Gopal Yadav expressed the party’s disapproval of hunger strikes, citing historical opposition to such methods by Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia.
Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) MP Mahua Maji disclosed that over 50 MPs urged Wangchuk to end his fast, emphasizing the importance of activists like him who support students and the public.
