Bhopal, Aug 9 (IANS) Amid rainfall on Sunday, hundreds of youths took out a ‘Tiranga Yatra’ in the Madhya Pradesh capital, immersing the city in a spirit of patriotism. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav flagged off the procession from TT Nagar Stadium, waving the national flag to boost the morale of the participants and appealing to them to pledge lifelong service to the nation.

Despite the rain, the enthusiasm of the young participants remained high.

Holding the Tricolour aloft, they raised slogans of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and conveyed the message that the nation comes first.

A large number of youths joined the yatra that began at TT Nagar Stadium in the morning.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Yadav said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Tiranga Yatras are being organised across the country to ignite the spirit of patriotism.

He recalled that India’s independence was the result of a long struggle, the sacrifices of revolutionaries and the contributions of freedom fighters.

He particularly noted that the Quit India Movement led by Mahatma Gandhi, along with the struggles of revolutionaries and non-violent movements, shook the foundations of British rule and ultimately forced the British to leave India.

The Chief Minister emphasised that the nation attained freedom through the sacrifices of martyrs and freedom fighters, and citizens must fulfil their responsibilities while remembering them.

He expressed the hope that India would move forward with the spirit of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ (the world is one family) and remain forever free and empowered.

Through the Tiranga Yatra, he said, people across the country, including youth, children, the elderly and women, are pledging to serve the nation.

He appealed to everyone to resolve to work for the country and national interest throughout their lives.

Earlier, Chief Minister Yadav also launched the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign by hoisting the national flag at his official residence. He urged the people of Madhya Pradesh to hoist the Tricolour at their homes and participate in the Independence Day celebrations with a spirit of patriotism.
