Amid controversy over alleged police brutality at the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP)-led march to Parliament, the party has ousted Vijeta Dahiya from his role as spokesperson. This decision follows viral videos showing Dahiya eating a burger during the protest. The CJP expressed strong disapproval of Dahiya’s actions, citing them as insensitive and incompatible with the movement’s values.
Dahiya faced online criticism for eating a burger while fellow protesters, mainly youth and students, faced police actions. In response to his dismissal, Dahiya defended his actions in a video, stating that he was not accountable to anyone and had the right to eat a burger. He emphasized that his actions were his own choice and not subject to public scrutiny.
The Delhi Police faced backlash for their handling of the CJP’s march, where numerous participants, including students, were subjected to baton charges and tear gas. The CJP reported severe injuries among the protestors due to police intervention. In contrast, the Delhi Police accused the demonstrators of engaging in aggressive and violent behavior.
