Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal praised Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis for spearheading initiatives to enhance the quality of life in Mumbai. Goyal expressed gratitude to Fadnavis for leading a review meeting aimed at transforming Uttar Mumbai into ‘Uttam Mumbai,’ focusing on providing top-notch services to residents in areas like healthcare and infrastructure.
Fadnavis recently presided over a review meeting concerning various issues in the Mumbai North Lok Sabha constituency in the presence of Goyal. He highlighted the progress of multiple infrastructure projects in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) that will improve transportation efficiency. Fadnavis instructed officials to formulate a policy for the optimal utilization of housing resources allocated for project-affected individuals.
The development is in progress on several MMRDA land parcels, with additional projects in the pipeline. Fadnavis directed officials to collaborate with central agencies for a comprehensive land survey and to submit a consolidated land proposal to the Central Government. Moreover, he emphasized the appointment of a nodal officer to expedite pending legal cases related to MMRDA lands, as per court directives.
Fadnavis emphasized the need for the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to enhance facilities, hygiene standards, and workforce at Shatabdi and Bhagwati hospitals. He stressed expediting the demarcation of Mumbai’s village settlements to ensure equitable access to civic amenities for all residents. Additionally, Fadnavis instructed the development of a master plan for a ‘Convention Centre’ in Gorai, inspired by Delhi’s Bharat Mandapam.
These initiatives are expected to redefine Mumbai’s urban landscape, offering improved connectivity, advanced healthcare services, and a respectable standard of living for every individual. The Maharashtra CM highlighted the presence of senior officials during the discussions.
