Advocate Ujjval Bhasin lodged a complaint with Chandigarh SSP Kanwardeep Kaur against Yograj Singh, father of cricketer Yuvraj Singh, for allegedly making derogatory comments about women in the web series ‘Lukkhe’. Bhasin expressed disappointment in Yograj Singh’s remarks, particularly targeting women who work and then manage household chores. He emphasized the role of women in families and highlighted the complaint to the Chandigarh SSP.
Highlighting the gender of the Chandigarh SSP, Bhasin praised her capabilities and expected prompt action upon reviewing the derogatory statement. He also raised concerns about actors wearing Chandigarh Police uniforms in the film, specifically mentioning Gurbani Kaur. Bhasin stressed the significance of the term ‘Gurbani’ in Sikh culture and expressed disappointment in the disrespectful portrayal.
Bhasin warned of legal action if the Chandigarh SSP does not address the issue, mentioning a potential approach to the court. He urged the Women’s Commission to take action against Yograj Singh for his remarks, which he believed disparaged working women nationwide. Bhasin expressed doubts about Yograj Singh’s reputation and impact on coaching, emphasizing the objectionable nature of his statements and calling for an FIR against the ‘Lukkhe’ web series creators.
