The Congress has accused the CBSE of a security and privacy breach in the evaluation portal, claiming that the answer booklets of 20 lakh Class 12 students were exposed to the public. The CBSE has denied these allegations, stating that there were no security lapses in the portal or irregularities in the vendor selection for scanning booklets under the On-Screen Marking system. Congress MP Jairam Ramesh criticized the CBSE, highlighting concerns over the leaked answer booklets and questioning the quality of scanning done by the contracted company.
The leaked answer booklets reportedly exhibited signs of paper folding and shadows, indicating possible scanning via mobile phones instead of proper scanning machines. Ramesh raised doubts about the type of scanners used by the contracted company, COEMPT, and criticized the decision to alter technical conditions in the contract bidding process. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) refuted claims made by a social media user regarding the compromise of the On-Screen Marking system, emphasizing that the evaluation portal was secure and free from vulnerabilities.
CBSE assured students of robust security measures in place to protect the integrity of the platform, dismissing allegations made by Congress leaders and emphasizing that the evaluation portal was not compromised. The Board clarified that the URL mentioned in the social media claim was not related to the actual portal used for answer-book evaluation. The CBSE also rejected accusations from political figures like Rahul Gandhi, labeling them as erroneous and not grounded in factual evidence.
