Amid speculation about a leadership change in Karnataka, Congress leader Satish Jarkiholi has appealed to the party high command to address the issue promptly. Jarkiholi, a close associate of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, met with AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge in New Delhi to seek clarity on the matter. He emphasized the need for a swift decision to avoid internal uncertainty within the party.
Jarkiholi stressed to Kharge that a timely resolution is crucial, especially with the upcoming election results in five states. He assured that the party would respect and adhere to any decision made by the high command. Minister H.C. Mahadevappa, another ally of CM Siddaramaiah, was also present during the meeting with Kharge.
In response to the situation in Kalaburagi, Karnataka Home Minister G. Parameshwara assured that the party leadership would soon provide clarity on all issues. Parameshwara emphasized that there is no confusion within the party and that they are committed to fulfilling their promises to the people. He mentioned that the demand for a Dalit chief minister reflects public sentiment, and the high command will make an appropriate decision.
Regarding the possibility of a leadership change as a “birthday gift” for D.K. Shivakumar, Parameshwara reiterated that all Congress leaders will respect the decision of the high command. He clarified that individual opinions do not signify confusion within the party. Parameshwara also highlighted the smooth implementation of state government programs under the Rs 4 lakh crore budget.
