Congress MP Manish Tewari Raises Concerns Over West Asia Conflict Impact

Congress MP Manish Tewari expressed worries about the disruptions in supplies due to the escalating conflict in West Asia. Emphasizing the importance of diplomacy, he urged all parties to de-escalate tensions. Tewari highlighted the broader consequences of the conflict on the supply chain of essential commodities like crude oil, natural gas, fertilizers, food, and pharmaceuticals.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also addressed the challenges faced by India as a result of the West Asia conflict. He mentioned the impact on Indians in Gulf nations and the economic repercussions. PM Modi stressed the need for a swift resolution to the crisis to mitigate its global economic and humanitarian effects.

In response to the situation, Prime Minister Modi chaired a meeting to review the ongoing conflict involving the US, Israel, and Iran. The Cabinet Committee on Security discussed mitigation measures and assessed the potential short, medium, and long-term impacts on the global economy. Measures to ensure the availability of essential resources like food, energy, and fuel were also deliberated upon.
