Congress Lok Sabha Members of Parliament (MPs) are scheduled to convene at the Congress Parliamentary Party (CPP) office in Parliament on Monday at 10:30 a.m., just before the commencement of the Monsoon Session. The meeting aims to inform the MPs about the decisions taken during the Opposition floor leaders’ meeting as the party finalizes its strategy for the session.
The Monsoon Session, which will consist of 19 sittings over a four-week period, is set to begin on Monday and conclude on August 13. In a related development, Congress MP Manickam Tagore has submitted an Adjournment Motion Notice in the Lok Sabha to address the issue of the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) paper leak.
Tagore’s motion seeks to discuss critical issues such as the NEET paper leaks, the alleged failure of the National Testing Agency (NTA), and the tenure of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. He emphasizes the need for accountability regarding the paper leaks and criticizes the coaching industry’s role in student suicides in Tamil Nadu.
Congress MP Manish Tewari has also submitted an Adjournment Motion Notice in the Lok Sabha to deliberate on a new anti-defection law. The motion aims to prevent mass defections driven by opportunism and maintain space for genuine dissent within and outside Parliament. An all-party meeting was held on Sunday at the Main Committee Room of Parliament House Annexe to seek collaboration from political parties for the smooth functioning of both Houses of Parliament.
