The Congress party has strongly responded to former party leader Shakeel Ahmad’s recent remarks labeling Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi as a “darpok” (coward) and an “insecure leader.” Congress MP Pramod Tiwari criticized Ahmad for his ingratitude, highlighting the party’s support and opportunities provided to him. Tiwari questioned Ahmad’s motivations for attacking the leadership after his departure from the organization.
Expressing disappointment in Ahmad’s comments, Tiwari urged him to acknowledge the party’s contributions to his political career. He emphasized the need for restraint and advised Ahmad to address any grievances within the party internally rather than publicly criticizing leaders like Rahul Gandhi. Tiwari praised Gandhi as a courageous fighter against the BJP and the Modi government.
The controversy arose when Shakeel Ahmad publicly criticized Rahul Gandhi, portraying him as an insecure and dictatorial leader who disregards senior party members. Ahmad alleged that Gandhi favors individuals who praise him, leading to internal divisions within the Congress party. BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla seized on the situation to criticize Gandhi’s leadership style, claiming that it reveals his true character.
In response to Ahmad’s comments, Shiv Sena leader Shaina NC supported Ahmad’s assessment of Rahul Gandhi, stating that many within the Congress share similar concerns about the party leadership. Shaina NC echoed Ahmad’s sentiments, emphasizing the need for Gandhi to address criticisms from within his own party ranks.
