The number of people suffering from stomach pain, vomiting, and diarrhea due to contaminated water in a residential colony in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, has been increasing over the past three days. Bharatiya Janata Party leader and state Urban Development Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya reported that 66 patients are currently receiving treatment in various hospitals in the city. Additionally, 22 medical teams, including senior doctors, have been deployed for health checkups in the affected locality.

Vijayvargiya, who has been actively monitoring the situation on the ground, stated that all private hospitals in the area have been instructed to admit patients from the affected colony and provide treatment free of charge. He also mentioned that two to three deaths have been reported so far, with ongoing medical care for the affected individuals. The illness outbreak is suspected to be linked to the consumption of contaminated water supplied under the Narmada Jal Yojana in the Bhagirath residential colony.

Indore Municipal Corporation has collected water samples for testing, while health officials have conducted door-to-door surveys to assess the situation. The growing number of patients and recent deaths have caused alarm among residents in the Bhagirath area. Authorities are awaiting the laboratory test results of the water samples to determine the extent of contamination.
