The controversy over irregularities in Ram Mandir donations has intensified as Maulana Sajid Rashidi, President of the All India Imam Association, expressed concerns. Rashidi highlighted past corruption allegations and questioned the trust associated with the temple. He mentioned the Vishwa Hindu Parishad’s previous corruption accusations and the formation of a new trust with Champat Rai as the director.
Rashidi also raised doubts about financial transparency within the temple trust, pointing out procedural irregularities. He emphasized the need for accountability, questioning how thefts worth thousands of crores could occur without the knowledge of those in charge. Additionally, CPI(M) General Secretary M.A. Baby called for focus on corruption allegations rather than escalating religious disputes.
Amidst political sensitivity, debates continue regarding the governance and transparency of religious institutions, especially in light of the ongoing discussions surrounding the Ram Mandir issue.
