Cricket West Indies has revealed the women’s squad for the upcoming T20I series against Australia, scheduled from March 19–23 at Arnos Vale Cricket Ground in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
The team will consist of the same 15 players who competed in the recent T20I series against Sri Lanka, combining experienced players like Stafanie Taylor, Deandra Dottin, and captain Hayley Matthews with promising young talents.
The squad includes players like Shemaine Campbelle, who is on the brink of reaching her 150th T20 International cap, alongside emerging prospects Eboni Brathwaite and Jahzara Claxton, aiming to challenge Australia’s dominance.
This series serves as a crucial part of the team’s preparation for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup later this year in the United Kingdom, providing a valuable opportunity to test their skills against a top team.
Head Coach Shane Deitz expressed enthusiasm about facing the world’s best team in Caribbean conditions, emphasizing the significance of assessing the team’s progress and areas for improvement ahead of the upcoming World Cup.
After the T20Is, both teams will head to Warner Park in St. Kitts and Nevis for a three-match ODI series.
