The Crime Branch successfully dismantled an illegal LPG refilling and hoarding operation in the Bakkarwala area of Nangloi. Acting on specific intelligence, the police raided the site and seized 96 LPG cylinders, along with vehicles and equipment used in the illicit activity. Three accused individuals have been apprehended for their involvement in the racket.
Officials revealed that the illegal operation included unauthorized storage, tampering, and refilling of domestic LPG cylinders, allegedly for black marketing and price gouging. The police, upon receiving information about these activities in the Nangloi area, swiftly conducted raids to address the issue.
During the operation at a vacant plot behind Jai Shiv Nursery on Bakkarwala Road in Laxmi Nagar, Nangloi, 96 LPG cylinders were discovered. Additionally, cylinders were found loaded in three vehicles at the location, including two Tata Ace tempos and one Bajaj Maxima. Three individuals, Vinod, Vijay, and Vansh Raj, were present at the site and failed to provide valid documents or a satisfactory explanation for the large quantity of cylinders.
The Food and Supply Officer (FSO) from Vikaspuri confirmed the illegality of handling LPG cylinders without proper authorization. The accused have been charged under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Essential Commodities Act, 1955, for violating government orders related to LPG handling.
The recovery included 96 LPG cylinders, three transport vehicles, three weighing machines, and two metallic pipes used for unauthorized refilling practices. Investigations revealed that the accused, associated with LPG delivery services, diverted cylinders to a plot where they conducted illegal refilling and sold the gas at inflated prices in the market.
