In response to the increased visitors during Chaitra Navratri at Mata Vaishno Devi temple in Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi district, a crime review meeting was conducted by Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Udhampur-Reasi range. The meeting, led by DIG Sarah Rizvi, involved discussions on various aspects of policing performance in the district.
During the meeting, SSP Reasi provided an overview of the district’s policing performance, focusing on case disposals, progress in under-investigation cases, crime against women, action against drug peddlers, and redressal of public grievances. Special attention was given to the status of under-investigation and undertrial cases under NDPS, with a focus on enhancing conviction rates and ensuring timely justice delivery.
Emphasis was placed on the effective implementation of new criminal laws and the adoption of modern policing tools and procedures, such as e-Sakshya, e-Summons, e-FIR, and Zero FIR. The meeting also stressed the importance of adhering to investigation timelines, especially for cases requiring completion within specific periods, and utilizing platforms like MedLeaPR for strengthening medico-legal processes.
