Five-time IPL champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have brought in Kuldip Yadav to replace Khaleel Ahmed, while defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have named Richard Gleeson as a replacement for Nuwan Thushara. Kuldip Yadav, who made his IPL debut for Rajasthan Royals in 2021, will join CSK for Rs 30 lakh. On the other hand, Richard Gleeson, the English fast bowler with six T20I games under his belt, will join RCB for Rs 1.6 crore.
Khaleel Ahmed, the 28-year-old fast bowler who played five games for CSK this season, had to exit the tournament due to a right quadricep injury sustained during a match against Kolkata Knight Riders. Despite initially seeming like cramps, further assessments revealed a tear in his quadriceps, leading to a successful surgery. Meanwhile, Nuwan Thushara was ruled out of the tournament before its start after failing a fitness test by Sri Lanka Cricket.
Rachin Ravindra of Kolkata Knight Riders has returned home to prepare for New Zealand’s Test tour to England.
