The Cyberabad Police in Telangana have apprehended two additional suspects linked to a purported scheme to unlawfully seize valuable government land through falsified Government Orders and deceptive official documents. Veladi Radhakrishna and his driver Gyara Praveen Kumar, identified as accused numbers nine and 10, were recently detained by the authorities. Earlier, three individuals were arrested on May 29 in connection with an alleged Rs 1,000 crore land fraud.
The case revolves around the fabrication of counterfeit Government Orders (G.O.s) and misleading official records to illicitly sell 10 acres of government property valued at nearly Rs 1,500 crore in Gandipet. Following a complaint from Srinivas Reddy, Tahsildar of Gandipet Mandal, Rangareddy district, a case was registered at Narsingi Police Station on May 23 under sections 338, 336(3), 318(4), and 61(2) BNS.
Radhakrishna, a former outsourcing employee at the Andhra Pradesh Secretariat, exploited his knowledge of government office procedures to dupe individuals by offering fake government jobs, land regularization orders, and other permissions. He subsequently transitioned to large-scale land-related frauds, amassing wealth through illicit means.
The investigation uncovered Radhakrishna’s collaboration with individuals claiming rights over government land in Gandipet village, aiming to profit unlawfully from the property. By fabricating fake documents and engaging in financial transactions, Radhakrishna and his associates deceived multiple parties involved in the land transactions, resulting in significant monetary exchanges.
Authorities seized various incriminating items, including laptops, cheque books, stamps, bank passbooks, and documents related to different lands, from Radhakrishna and Praveen Kumar. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining absconding suspects and fully expose the financial transactions associated with the conspiracy.
