Cyprus President Nikos Christodoulides expressed the significance of his upcoming State Visit to India, highlighting its role in enhancing the strong bilateral relations between the two nations. During his visit from May 20 to May 23, President Christodoulides will visit New Delhi and Mumbai, with plans to sign various agreements with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Discussions between the leaders will focus on enhancing cooperation in trade, investment, technology, education, culture, and defense, among other areas of mutual interest.
The visit will also include talks on regional and global issues, along with collaboration in multilateral forums. Prime Minister Modi will host a luncheon in honor of President Christodoulides, who will be accompanied by a high-level delegation including Cyprus ministers and business leaders. This visit marks President Christodoulides’ first official trip to India since taking office.
President Christodoulides will engage in various official meetings, including with President Droupadi Murmu and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar. The visit underscores the longstanding partnership between India and Cyprus, aiming to further strengthen cooperation within the broader India-EU framework. Notably, the two countries will commemorate 65 years of diplomatic relations on February 10, 2027.
