Cyprus President Nikos Christodoulides has commenced his four-day State Visit to India, arriving in Mumbai on Wednesday. He was warmly welcomed by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Governor Jishnu Dev Varma upon his arrival at the airport. The Ministry of External Affairs emphasized that his visit underscores the increasing momentum of the bilateral partnership.
President Christodoulides is set to participate in a Business Forum in Mumbai during his visit. The MEA spokesperson, Randhir Jaiswal, highlighted the strong historical ties and shared values between India and Cyprus. He mentioned that the visit signifies the growing collaboration between the two nations.
Ahead of his trip, President Christodoulides expressed the significance of his State Visit to India, aiming to further enhance the already excellent relations between the two countries. He emphasized the strategic cooperation established during the Prime Minister of Cyprus’s visit to India last June, focusing on political, economic, and tourism aspects.
During his State Visit from May 20 to 23, President Christodoulides, at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will travel to New Delhi and Mumbai to sign several agreements. Discussions between PM Modi and President Christodoulides will cover various areas of mutual interest, including trade, investment, technology, education, culture, and defense.
