Cyprus President Nikos Christodoulides has arrived in New Delhi as part of his four-day State Visit to India. He received a warm welcome and Guard of Honour, greeted by Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways, Shri Ajay Tamta. This visit follows Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s historic visit to Cyprus in June 2025, aiming to strengthen the India-Cyprus partnership.
President Christodoulides expressed delight upon his arrival in New Delhi, highlighting the strategic vision for enhanced cooperation between Cyprus and India. He emphasized areas such as security, defense, technology, innovation, maritime cooperation, and economic connectivity, aiming to boost ties with Europe and the Middle East. Christodoulides looks forward to his meeting with PM Modi scheduled for Friday.
During his visit, President Christodoulides rang the NSE India bell in Mumbai, accompanied by NSE Chairman Srinivas Injeti and NSE MD and CEO Ashishkumar Chauhan. The visit included discussions on strengthening bilateral ties and exploring avenues for deeper collaboration. In New Delhi, President Christodoulides is set to meet President Droupadi Murmu and attend an official banquet in his honor. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will also meet with President Christodoulides before his scheduled meeting with PM Modi at the Hyderabad House.
President Christodoulides considers his State Visit to India as highly significant, aiming to further enhance the already strong ties between Cyprus and India.
