Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar dismissed reports suggesting Tamil Nadu party MLAs were at the Eagleton Resort near Bengaluru as untrue. He clarified that he had no knowledge of such claims and would have informed if there were any truth to them. Shivakumar mentioned that the resort is presently closed for maintenance, refuting all related reports.
Addressing the media in Bengaluru, Shivakumar expressed uncertainty about the MLAs’ whereabouts, mentioning conflicting reports of them being in Hyderabad or Bengaluru. He emphasized that the party leadership had not contacted him on this matter yet. He reiterated his commitment to follow the party’s decisions, highlighting his compliance with previous directives for campaigning and manifesto events.
Regarding the evolving political scenario in Tamil Nadu, Shivakumar stated his lack of awareness and disclosed no communication from anyone regarding the developments. He also commented on an event honoring former Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa, supporting the gesture and wishing Yediyurappa well. Shivakumar acknowledged differing ideologies while appreciating Yediyurappa’s contributions.
Reflecting on his recent temple visit in Puducherry, Shivakumar shared insights on political party practices in Kerala, emphasizing inclusive decision-making processes. Responding to criticism from the Leader of the Opposition, R. Ashoka, about his attention to tree-related issues in Bengaluru, Shivakumar asserted his actions in addressing the matter promptly. He mentioned issuing directives for tree trimming based on authorities’ recommendations.
Shivakumar addressed the controversy surrounding IPL tickets and match relocation from Bengaluru, attributing the uproar to BJP leaders and individuals from Gujarat seeking higher ticket sales. He defended providing tickets to MLAs and dismissed the created drama, highlighting the routine allocation of tickets by stadium authorities to state governments in other regions.
