Dabang Delhi TTC clinched the last semifinal spot in Ultimate Table Tennis Season 7 by defeating PBG Pune Jaguars 10-5 in Panaji. The former champions will now face Dempo Goa Challengers in the first semifinal, while HVR Kolkata ThunderBlades will take on U Mumba TT in the second semifinal.
Maria Xiao shone for Delhi with wins in women’s singles and mixed doubles, supported by captain Sathiyan Gnanasekaran. The tournament, organized by the Table Tennis Federation of India, features 42 players from around the world, including 14 Olympians, aiming to enhance the Indian table tennis scene.
Omar Assar gave Pune a strong start, but Delhi rallied with consecutive victories to secure the win. Sathiyan’s exceptional performance led Delhi to the semifinals. Despite Snehit Suravajjula’s efforts, Delhi’s place in the top four was confirmed, setting up a challenging semifinal against Dempo Goa Challengers.
Sathiyan was honored as the ChatGPT MatchIQ Player and Indian Player of the Tie for his leadership, while Maria Xiao and Prithika Pavade received awards for their performances. The final scores stood at Dabang Delhi T.T.C 10-5 PBG Pune Jaguars.
