Tibetan spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, has arrived in Leh for his annual two-month summer stay in Ladakh. This visit follows his recent medical treatment in Delhi. During his time in Ladakh, he will engage in religious teachings, public interactions, and special programs. The local administration, along with Buddhist associations, has made arrangements for his stay and scheduled events.
The Dalai Lama is expected to stay in Ladakh until part of August, with limited public teachings due to his recent knee surgery. He will visit Matho village to confer teachings and celebrate his 91st birthday on July 6 with religious and cultural programs. Devotees and the Buddhist community welcomed his arrival in the Himalayan region.
Born on July 6, 1935, the 14th Dalai Lama, also known as Tenzin Gyatso, is the highest spiritual leader of Tibetan Buddhism. He previously served as the leader of Tibet and now leads the Tibetan government in exile. Central to Tibetan Buddhist tradition is the belief that the Dalai Lama is a living Bodhisattva, embodying compassion.
