The Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) has refuted allegations of adulteration and hygiene issues in soft drinks sold at the Arun Jaitley Stadium during a recent ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 match. A video circulating on social media showed a vendor pouring cold drink back into bottles, but DDCA clarified that this was done as per agreed commercial arrangements and operational standards. The bottles were then disposed of responsibly in accordance with environmental guidelines.
The DDCA addressed the viral video on social media, particularly on X (formerly Twitter), which alleged the vendor’s actions during a recent match. The operation, as per DDCA, was conducted by the authorized concessionaire for the stadium in compliance with event guidelines. The concessionaire served Coca-Cola products based on agreed commercial terms and operational norms.
Emphasizing their adherence to strict hygiene protocols, DDCA stated that the vendor, while segregating waste, poured unused beverages back into bottles before disposal as part of the waste management process. The bottles were subsequently collected, segregated, and processed following the venue’s waste management and recycling policy. DDCA reiterated that the disposal was done responsibly in line with established environmental and operational standards.
