Deandra Dottin, known for her powerful batting and bowling skills, is set to play for UP Warriorz in the upcoming Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026 season after being signed for Rs 80 lakh in the previous mega auction. Her impressive performance in WPL 2025 with Gujarat Giants, where she took nine wickets at an economy of 8.43, has raised expectations for the upcoming season. Despite facing an injury setback last year, Deandra is determined to lead UP Warriorz to victory in the upcoming tournament.

Deandra Dottin, who has recently participated in The Hundred and WBBL, is excited to be part of the revamped UP Warriorz team led by Meg Lanning. She praised Lanning’s leadership qualities and expressed enthusiasm about teaming up with power-hitter Kiran Navgire. Deandra also highlighted the emergence of Indian domestic talent in the WPL, emphasizing the importance of hard work and fitness for young players to excel in the sport.

The West Indian cricketer shared her views on the uniqueness of the WPL compared to other franchise tournaments, citing the passionate cricket culture in India as a major factor. Deandra emphasized the evolution of power-hitting in women’s cricket, noting the significant improvements in this aspect of the game over the past few years. She expressed excitement about partnering with Kiran Navgire, another strong hitter, in the upcoming season.

Deandra Dottin emphasized the importance of fitness in sustaining top-level performance, especially after recovering from a knee injury. She highlighted the need to maintain agility and prevent injuries through focused fitness routines. Deandra also stressed the significance of simplicity in skill training, advising players to stick to what works best for them. As UP Warriorz aim for their first WPL title, Deandra emphasized the importance of consistency, freedom, and fearlessness in their approach to the game.
